The Planetary Society
- is the largest nonprofit, nongovernmental, space advocacy group on
Earth. Funded entirely by individuals like yourself, the Society helps
to make space exploration happen in many different ways.
SETI
Institute Current Research Projects - The SETI Institute serves
as a home for scientific research in the general field of Life in the
Universe with an emphasis on the Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence
(SETI). Their research is designed to answer the question: "Are we alone
in the Universe?" The Institute is a non-profit research organization
with more than two dozen projects. Funding for these projects comes
from government agencies, private foundations,and individual donors.
The world's most comprehensive and sensitive SETI program, Project Phoenix,
is funded entirely by private donations.
The
Astronomy Section of the Rochester Academy of Science - Dedicated
to the education of members and the general public in the knowledge
and enjoyment of the wonders of the universe, and to furthering the
understanding of astronomy in the Greater Rochester area. The site includes:
Club Membership Information, Public Meeting Schedule. Public Observing
Schedule, ASRAS Links - a forest of great Astronomy links, Comet Hale-Bopp

The
Space Transportation Association - The Space Transportation Association
(STA) represents the interests of organizations and people who are engaged
in developing, building, operating, and using space transportation vehicles,
systems, and services to provide reliable, economical, safe, and routine
access to space for private users and government, civil, and military
users.
The Mars Society
- The Purpose of the Mars Society: To further the goal of the
exploration and settlement of the Red Planet. This will be done by:
1. Broad public outreach to instill the vision of pioneering Mars.
2. Support of ever more aggressive government funded Mars exploration programs around the world.
3. Conducting Mars exploration on a private basis.
